As a follow-up to my prior email, here is information on how to register to be notified for when spots for Phases 1A and 1B are available. It will for now be by reservation appointment. Vaccine for those eligible in the Phase 1A group are now being offered ( e.g. Nursing home residents and staff, medical providers…). By following the below link you can also register if you are in Phase Group 1B ( 65years +). By following the link you will see lists ( including 65+) who are Phase B eligible. It is my understanding that by the end of today, the site will be revised to reflect the more precise breakout for persons in the 65-80 age group. Even if that has not yet occurred, I encourage you to register. www.ccbh.net/vax
Unfortunately, the roll out of vaccine lags far behind the demand. Even as those dates for 65+ vaccine are fast approaching, you should anticipate that it may be some time before the vaccine might be available for you. Hopefully production and distribution will begin to speed up. The expectation is that distribution locations, be they pharmacies, doctor’s offices, the fairgrounds…, will be better organized and announced in the next few weeks
1B is a significantly larger group and will likely include a broader range of entities providing these vaccinations in order to handle the anticipated volume. As announced, the Governor has said that 1B may start in a couple weeks in Ohio. The large urban counties will still be vaccinating in the 1A group for a while. There are about 230,000 people over 65 in the county and over 20,000 adults who work in schools. This is a huge group that will take months to reach. Having adequate vaccine available will require a wider range of entities joining public health to vaccinate this group, such as hospitals, pharmacies and community health centers. I will keep you updated as I become aware of information.
