Have You Been a Victim of Unemployment Fraud?

The Police Department have taken several reports from residents, reporting that unemployment benefits were fraudulently filed for in their names. The victims have either received debit cards in the mail, letters in the mail, or they've been notified by their employer that the claim was filed.

Has this happened to you too?

✔️ If so, you can report the fraud directly to the Ohio Department of Job and Family Services. They have set up an online portal for victims of identity theft related to unemployment claims.

✔️ Go to and click on the "REPORT IDENTITY THEFT" button to complete the form.

✔️ You may also contact us to file a police report as well. Call us at 216-831-1424."
