Having grown up in Pepper Pike and a graduate of the Orange Schools, Melanie has lived in our community for over 40 years. Melanie comes to Pepper Pike City Council after serving for 8 ½ years on the Orange Board of Education, two as board president and three as vice-president. During her tenure on the school board, she has served on numerous board and superintendent committees, including the Audit & Finance, Building & Grounds, Communications, Policy, and Academic committees. Melanie has also been the liaison to the Orange Community Education and Recreation Commission, as well as many supporting organizations such as the Orange PTAs, Orange Alumni Association, Orange Boosters, and Orange Schools Foundation. Her community work also includes serving in a variety of Orange PTA board positions, including as PTA president. Additionally, she has been a board member of the Orange Area Service Committee since 2007.
Melanie received her BA from the University of Michigan in 1989 and her JD from Case Western Reserve University School of Law in 1992. Following law school, she practiced law in Northeast Ohio. For the past ten years, Melanie has worked in commercial real estate management.
Melanie and her husband, Scott, have three adult children, Ben, Allie, and Dana, who are also Orange graduates
